I had a thought earlier... The "How'd they do that?" section is pretty neat, but i'd like to see something a bit more basic, for some of us who are photoshop-ly challenged. Something like, "Photoshop Corner", where someone takes a picture they submitted for a challenge, shows us the raw picture from the camera, then all the steps they did to touch it up.
OR! This one just came to me, as well. How about someone takes ahold of one of someone else's submissions, and shows examples of how that image might look different under different "photoshop examples"?

Much of the post processing that I normally do isn't allowed here, so I mostly just do things like convert to grayscale and sharpen. I could write some stuff about spot editing and filters, but it wouldn't do people here any good. I'd be willing to put together something for one of my challenge photos, but I don't have anything that took more than four steps (not counting resizing down and sharpening).

Quite frankly, I would LOVE this. And I don't see why there couldn't be tutorials on post-processing issues other than what is allowed here, as long as it is clearly stated that they are not permitted for use on the images submitted to dpc -I would love to learn other post-processing techniques to use on the photos I take. I only have Photoshop Elements, but don't even understand how to use most of IT.
I especially like the suggestion of having peeps submit one of their photos to the PS gurus for a tutorial on how it could have been made better. |
