Hello ...

When seeing the images I initially see a large beautiful image , but when it finishes loading a fraction of a second later, it downsizes to what seems very similar to when we had the 800px limit

I'm using firefox and chrome on win 7

my screen resolution is 1440 x 900 or 1600x900 depending what computer I'm using.

I'm guessing I'm no the only one seeing this , but I have seen no complains

maybe I'm missing setting a configuration somewhere so I can see the large images

Comments or suggestions ?

When we increased the allowed image size an auto-resize algorithm was also installed so that the challenge entries would be resizee to fit your screen resolution. Search for the announcement thread and a couple of subsequent ones for more comments about this.

Regardless of the display screen size, the algorithm resizes to the window size of the browser. This is true of Chrome and Firefox. One can enlarge the browser window up to the size of the display screen and images will display at up to 1200 px.

F11 enlarges it on my browser.....

When I watch images for voting the resizing works well. But when I browse through the images of a challenge once voting is done, no resizing takes place. Seems odd to me.

I believe the idea is to let us vote without having to scroll. I appreciate that, because I do not get the full impact of a photo when I have to scroll.

I can see bigger images using the browser in full screen mode

It does make a difference to see the larger images :)
