I need to use the font OCR A Std in Photoshop and I wanted to set the style to bold, however, there are no style selections on the font in PS but there is in Word. Any idea how I can get those options available in PS?

Hmmm.

You could try using the anti-aliasing method "Strong" and/or then stroke the resulting text by a pixel with layer style>effects>stroke.

That's all I have in CS3.

That font doesn't have a Bold version so there's no "style" to apply. There is software for editing/creating fonts, but AFAIK it's not cheap or simple, and mine is old ... if I had a week I might be able to create the bold font ... :-(

I also think your best/easiest solution is to set and render the type in PS, then stroke it by 1 pixel. If you have Illustrator you could also try tweaking the outlines there (most fonts are tiny PostScript pictures).
