Upside down and all around.. Take a photo with your camera upside down

I noticed my tripod had a hook on the bottom of the middle of it.. is what it is used for? I am thinking that could be interesting LOL!

Could make for some interesting perspectives. I suppose it would be cheating to take a picture right-side up and then rotate it 180 degrees in processing?

I believe the tripod hook is so you can hang a weight to increase stability, Julie.

LOL! Go figure..

That would be a sad thing if people did that with the 180 rotating in post processing.. that is not up to me, I will leave that up to the SC for rules to be made.

The hook is used to hang a weight on the tripod to make it more stable in windy conditions or when using a heavy lens on it.

With many tripods, you can take the center column out and put it in from below, allowing you to get down close to the surface that the tripod is on, for flowers, ants, copy work ect.
