So we "want" our athletes to kill themselves for our entertainment, and we are "bored" when they don't? Is that what you're saying?

You are an 18 year old young man you throw 89 mph and you got pick up by lets say the Reds (doesn't matter what MLB team)
Your in the farm system and doing so so. There is a slight chance that you could make it to the majors BUT there is a much better chance if you juice and add a few miles per hour on that fastball. If you juice and make the majors then crap out you start life with a $500,000 head start. That minimum MLB salary.

Don't think for one minute it's about what the fans want.

its both ways, without roids teams would be forced to accept players of a lower caliber. the players started it to get a competitive edge, now that the fans got subjected to the caliber of entertainment it brings... dont think for a second that baseball didn't turn a blind eye to steroids when Sosa and McGuire were digging them out of the hole that was dug with the players strike... everyone was following the contest and was loving it.

yes, and they get paid handsmely to do so..

kidding...........

when you comes to expect a certain level of quality out of a product and it goes away, it appears inferior.
