here is teh same technique with a portrait.. what do you all think?

Neat..
I think the shadow/light patches are a bit off putting, but the texture is really good. A little bit of dodge&burn and you've got something with that one...
Is this the same source image as fundababa.jpg? If so the effect is enhancing the uneven lighting of the source... Possibly a source image with slightly flatter lighting?
It's definately going to make some neat portraits though, great work.

I love your work theodur, and this is very intersting, but...have you ever seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Leatherface?
Even though if this were given the illusion of being on leather, remarkable!
