Dar, except for the score [mine's at 4.71], this post fits my situation exactly. It's disappointing, but it doesn't make me like my photo any less.
I'm still pursuing that elusive "mass appeal" formula. ...But I'm not sure if I want that if it means compromising my own principles and tastes. It's a tough one.

Does the one comment give you any clue as to what they didn't like? |
No clue just "YIKES!". Stopped motion is fairing a little better at 5.2 but, in my opinion, was a weaker photo. Go figure. |

I think that since everyone has a different view about what this "Touch" thing means (by the way mine would work for either interpretation) we should refrain from marking down any entry that fits either interpretation.
Also, I am wondering if people are really considering that in a 1-10 scoring system, 5 is average. I really do not think this many people have submitted sub-average entries!
I really like my entry and will remain proud of it regardless. I just wish I could come up with something I like that others like as well. Good luck to all. |

I was expecting a low score because of the nature of my photo, but I didn't think it would be this bad. Interesting thing is those 8 comments (almost twice as many as I got on my previous two challenges combined) were not negative. They were mostly reactionary: they felt my photo. Usually with a score this low, you'd get a lot of "too this" or "too that" "you should have done so and so" or "doesn't fit . . . " But for such a low score I got no feedback of that nature. I guess I'll never know why I got such a low score. |
