Hey guys :-))
I just started having issues with my lightroom and photoshop this morning when I went to export.. it does open up photoshop but no pictures come on through... it comes up blank
I am thinking about re-installing both programs at the moment, but I am sure I prob did something goofy to make it act like this..like click something or didn't save something right..
I have searched the photoshop and lightroom forums and went through their help sections but they don't match my issue of what I am having LOL Go figure.. and I have reset the pre-sets in both programs,
checked to make sure the bits were correct and it is and it still won't work, this is screen shots of what I get

re-installing... did not work (fully)...
the last time, it worked for saving and bringing in but then it refused to do an image resize for when I resize to 800 pixels LOL!
Third time a charm maybe? |

These are not the settings for export to PS. The settings there are under Preferences -> External Editing. "Edit in Adobe Photoshop" covers the file format, color space, bit depth, and resolution.
The settings you are using are for general export. Yes, you can ask it to open it in PS afterwards, but that's not the right way to work between LR and PS for editing. If you pick a photo, right click, and say "Edit in Photoshop CC", that uses the settings in Preferences.

it was exporting in my lightroom from RAW to jpg..
then in PS it was psd that it was saving too..
I have finally gotten it fixed, I upgraded it to 7.0
WOW what a difference!!!! It works beautifully.. so excited to try new things on this now |

just so you know, dont ever export raw to jpg and then edit the jpg in PS, you are losing so much info. export it as a tiff.
but the right click "edit in Photoshop" will use light room as the rendering engine and then save that to a tiff or psd. i use tiff because windows 7 has a problem with .psd over 1gb.
also be aware that if you make any initial edits to the raw in lightroom they will carry into photoshop. i prefer to do my edits on the unedited in Photoshop first and then apply lightroom edits after. this helps with consistency when you copy edits within lightroom between images and if you go back to re-edit the image after you applied lightroom edits, if you choose "edit original", it will open the original psd or tiff and when you save back into LR it will reapply your edits. |

oo wow I had no clue about that..
I have windows 7 as well
only issue I found is that my photoshop wouldn't take RAW files so hopefully this photoshop 7 will?
I have been doing my flow all wrong then |

you need adobe camera raw to render it first, then photoshop will take that info passed to it and make a tiff or psd out of it. make sure you have the latest version of Adobe camera raw installed, lightroom will render instead though.

if you right click an image in lightroom, it will render it based on what you did in LR. you can edit away in PS at that point. when you are done you will save, that will either be a psd or a tiff (might be other choices) depending on what you have in your settings. back in LR you will have the original raw and the new tiff or psd next to each other. |
