Alternate entry.
This one was taken with a different camera and although I like the composition better there was a lot more difficulty with noise and detail. In the end the decision about whether or not to swap it out made itself as life got in the way.

I would have chosen the one you entered. Both lovely photos but the one you did not enter does look like it has a bit of a noise issue and the halos seems a bit too intense.

An alternative that I also liked:


The evening light was very eerie. There was fog -- but only for a few blocks closest to the lake. Away from the lake the sky was clear and the sun was bright.
