My reaction exactly... Hah, I just googled. Apparently jutting collarbones are highly erotic in the part of the world, and it's startling to see them displayed...

That puts me in mind of a story I heard from a woman who tried visiting St. Peters on a sweltering summer day in Rome. This was the early 70s in the heyday of the micro mini skirt, and she was turned away at the door of the basillica because her elbows were uncovered, and she was told she could not enter while she was so indecently exposed. Meanwhile the local hotties sauntered in wearing their go-go boots and mini skirts, but at least they had the decency to not show their elbows. Hubba hubba, check out the elbows on that one ! |

For grins and giggles, I thought it might be interesting what a portrait package considers "typical". Here is the photo, processed through Portrait Professional using the "young woman-natural" defaults.

I've got to say that the scariest edit is the USA one. I don't see how anyone would find that attractive??
Aside from that, Argentina and Phillipines seemed way overly excessive to me, although Argentina much more so... Germany's was a bit on the ghostly side, and India's was very Frida Kahlo-ish.
The rest seemed like they just had different choices as to what to add when it comes to make-up..
Personally, I think the simplest ones are the "best" (If there's even a best)

The simplest ones are the best to my eyes too. I wonder what would have happened if the starting point had been a less beautiful woman?

The woman in the before picture is considerably more appealing than any of the after pictures. But that's true of any portrait that's enhanced in this facile way. How sad to suppose that beauty is something that can be added? |

I think if one were truly ugly, this might be a positive thing. |

blatant copying
what's going on here?? how can they just copy the idea. or is it possible two people just thought of it completely separately. |

Why SHOULDN'T someone else use the idea too? It's not as if it's copyrighted or anything. |

More shocking is how poorly they were processed! |
