I just sent my camera in to Canon(sobbing uncontrollably). They think my fire wire port never worked from the start and is defective(choking and fighting back more tears). I am going to be so lost without it :(
Excuse me(collapses and falls to the ground curled up in the fetal position). My life has no meaning now (screaming out in agony).

(Chest heaving slowing down) At least they say their turn around on pro level cameras is only 72hrs. So hopfully I will see it... in ... a... week... or... so...(bursts into a sobbing fit once again). Oh someone make the pain stop, please :(

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Man, thanks. I needed a great laugh like that.

Just kidding. If I didn't like Canon so much my only other choice would be a Nikon :)

It'd hurt alot more if you didn't have a warranty.

Err..DO you have a warranty?

You didn't need to add that. What's wrong with biased, uncritical brand loyalty? It adds to the fun.

3 cheers for NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. NIKON. and so on...

I sent my camera to Canon in Irvine, Ca via FedEx on September 3rd and they received it on the 7th.

I'am still waiting on mine :)

I was hoping to have it back by Saturday but not sure if it is going to happen now.

I know the feeling I sent my Nikon D70 in a weeks or two ago for service, it sucks.... At least I have my nikon 4300 still. But I just hate living without my D70. Ahhh.

And what makes it worst if I do go on the DPC NY meet I may not have my D70 aggghhhhhh. This sucks and I just got it not to long ago.

I feel your pain.

My battery D70 battery died on the last day of my 7-day trip to Scotland on Tuesday, and the recharger missed the connection flight to Narita. It's due back tomorrow morning. Then I'll stop feeling your pain.

Warranty plus extended warranty. But in any case the camera should just be considered a trade in. I haven't even had it that long.

I do have a little Powershot A75 at home so I am not completely lost. The thing that makes me cry the most is how much I am going to miss the advantages of finally having a DSLR that would compair and smother my old film SLR.(Even though my film SLR is really not that old :)) I think the thing that bugs me the most is the lag time in the little digital cameras.

I'm hanging onto my Nikon F2 until it becomes a genuine antique. Heck, maybe it already IS a genuine antique.

Takes the best pictures! Has made me GOBS and GOBS of money. Best investment I ever made.

I bought my Canon 10D with my American Express Business Card and they up the warranty to 2 years so hopefully I will be covered for the next year :) My Canon warranty ran out September 12th. So the American Express Warranty should keep me covered for another year anyhow.

The first time I sent my 10D in it was approximately a 10 day turn around from the day they received it until the day I got it back. This time it is getting very close. I need to call them in about 15 minutes to check and see if they are going to get it out today :)

I'm in Calgary, the Canon service centre is actually here now! They moved it from Vancouver, I'd imagine due to sheer demand.

Calgary is the photography capitol of Canada - no joke. There's more photographers here than there are enough rocks to throw at them.

Lucky pour moi most of them are techy-wanna-be-amateurs. No doubt with better equipment than I, however :*-(

I love Calgary.. I'm Alberta born and raised, for the most part. (moved to B.C. when I was 14), so still have a place in my heart for it.. especially Red Deer and Calgary.

However, I doubt I'd ever move back. Can't handle the winters in my old bones anymore :)
