This was taken along a local cycle path called the Spen Valley Greenway. Artists were asked to become involved in the creation of this path, and you can see what local people thought of it in this photo!
This sign was created by Pauline Monkcom, and you can read more about their good intentions here:

I'm particularly tickled by the following quote from the creator of this sign: 'I'm interested in the way the written word impacts on the landscape, acting to inform, to interpret, to warn and sometimes to create ambiguity', and how this contrasts with someone's eloquent response.
BTW, the artifacting is from trying to keep the file sizes down. |
