Anyone know where I can find a good film based forum?
My mother sent home an old camera that my father had and I have no clue how it works. I Googled it and I think it would be cool to try to take some pictures but I need to be schooled.
It looks exactly like this picture I robbed from ebay.

I have one of those. You're going to love it. For film, start perhaps with Kodak Tri-X 120. And if you plan to learn to develop the film yourself, Kodak D-76 is a good all around black and white film developer.
As far as film forums, APUG.org is the leader. It's a very active, very passionate, very generous community.
Good luck. Let me know if you sign up at APUG, and PM me at either place if you want some offline guidance. |

As mentioned APUG.org is an excellent reference. They are strictly film folk. So digital is not a topic for discussion there. Many there do own digital cameras, they just like the form to stay on topic.
I own a couple of Yashicas. My user ID over there is the same as here.

How fun! Nothing like a cool old film camera showing up in the mail. APUG is the place for more info.
Here is a link to a manual... Yashica-Mat manual |
