Simple: To expand our resources, I would like this to be a thread which lists a few photography websites you frequent, and what kind of site it is.

The Fred Miranda site you have to have a paid e-mail account, no free acount like yahoo or hotmail...I'm not paying for and e-mail address.

A site that has a POTD for all Canon cameras is PowerShotUser.com.
They have news about Canon products and forums that could be very useful but don't get much traffic. There are POTW & POTM competitions with occasional prizes. Considering how many Canon owners we have here at dpc, and how many of our users have won their POTD, we ought to be supporting them. It's sort of an overlooked gem of a website.
