Asking this for a friend and I don't know enough about the power of an iMac to assist her.

Specs
imac 21.5" i3
8 gig of ram
1 TB hard drive
512gb graphics card

Is this machine very good for the use of Lightroom and Photoshop
Is there enough power and does it have much future (in regard to speed and updated versions of lightroom and photoshop)

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Easily enough i'd say. They could bump the ram up to 16GB quite cheaply as well. That's what i'd do. But even without that they should be fine with most photography/lightroom/photoshop work.

I say most because it could depend on the files. I use a mac-mini with 8GB ram and that's fine for my regular photo stuff when i'm working on the raw files from my Nikon d700 (approx 15mb each) - It can get a bit slow when i'm working with raw/tif files from my Sigma (approx 60-90mb each) and when doing big stitched panos from them. Not too bad though and i think if i just cleaned up the hard drive and made more room that would help.

Yes, that is still a decent Photoshop machine, and boosting the RAM to 16GB will make it 30-40% faster.
