PLEASE let there be an Aerial Photography challenge soon :)
Seriously, I've been having an absolute blast with this set up. I've had it for a week, and I've been loving every minute of it. It's a DJI Phantom Vision 1.1.1 with a GoPro 3+ Black.

How fabulous!!! Can you see what you're shooting? Is there a remote viewer somewhere? Or is it just luck? Also, what about settings? Can those be adjusted. My sweetie has a GoPro, but I know nothing about how it works. |

These are all views as I was hovering over/near my house (in Ambridge, 17 miles out of the city).

There are newer versions of the quadcopter that have their own built-in cameras, and the video can be viewed live. The GoPro itself has that capability, but its wifi would actually potentially interfere with the quadcopter's transmitter, so I can't use them both at the same time.
The GoPro does fantastic video... when I do video, I just start it at the beginning of the flight, and stop it when I land. Ditto with the still shots... I just set the GoPro to fire a shot every half second, and basically guess at the angles when I'm buzzing around. With just a few minutes, I'll have several hundred shots on the card, and hopefully something worth keeping :)
The GoPro doesn't offer a whole lot of settings options. It will automatically expose shots (there is a "spot metering" mode, though), and there are a few different resolution settings. You can't go in and manually set aperture/shutter speed, though. For what it is, it's a fantastic little camera!

I can't think of any of my nearby neighbors that I'd want to see naked... :)

I'm not sure I'm seeing what you're seeing? All of the shots are basically directly over my house, looking in different directions. The last shot is hovering directly over my house, looking toward the south. That would be in the direction of Pittsburgh, but not with anything from the city in sight. The distant view of the valley would be the Ohio River, with South Heights or Coraopolis.
If you're looking at something that kinda sorta looks like a cityscape on the horizon on the left, that's just a water tower around Sewickley.

A little bump on the left side of the horizon in G0030372. The nuke plant at Shippingport?
ETA: Water tower. Got it. It looked more distant to me than Sewickley from Ambridge...
