Never auto or P, sometimes Shutter Priority and Manual, most of the time Apperture Priority. I always shoot in RAW.

Auto=0.2%
P=19.7%
TV=22.0% (Although I haven't been able to find any channels yet)
AV=37.4%
M=20.7%
Just kidding withya!
I have no idea of the percentage... hahaha
Seriously, I am using P, TV, AV & M pretty equally I think, it depends on what I'm shooting of course. :-)

Actually, I could use IMatch and retract that information from the EXIF data. Was thinking about this the other day, I wanted to make a statistic over what focal lengths I used most.

Auto: when I'm drunk
Sports and other action: M + prefocus
Portaits: M or A
When using external flash: M
Also use S for some situations.
Almost never use P

same here, it's kind of automatic with knobs on. in fact, i can't see the point of automatic at all - even someone as neolithic as me knows about iso's and stuff (well, not for the first 5 months when everything shot was iso 50, hence why blurriness is 80% of shots taken over that period).
I love playing with Tv setting if i have my 6 inch tripod with me though. and on still life stuff, i sometimes venture a toying with the A setting. never brave or confident enough to go full commando with manual though - je suis un big fat cowardly custard. |

Kia Ora everyone I tend to use A[apature} most of the time. Why? it is the one inm which you can control depth of feild easily, its most useful for portrait and landscape work, a versitile setting. |

That would be great if that is an option in iMatch, is this something that is easy to do in the program? I haven't begun using iMatch yet, but I did download it last summer and I'm going to get into it very soon.

I'll admit it, I'm lazy a lot of the time, sticking with P mode. When it starts getting dark I'll switch to av and open the lens wide open. Sometimes I'll meter it in P mode, then dial the exposure setting to where I want it.
I'd like to start using M more. Figures Kiwiness and Jacko use the complete opposite settings ... so much for copying my hero's :) |

Now I use only 'M'. But at the beginning I used Tv/Av/P often as well.

I use AV most of the time, or TV when using flash. I use M for
when I have the time or want to take the time to spend on a shot.
I really don't see the point to using M all the time if all your going
to do is set the exposure to what the meter says any way. |

The only time I use Auto (full, aperture, or shutter) is in rapidly changing conditions, or when I'm shooting a moving target that may go in/out of different lighting. In constant lighting, or static subjects, I always use full manual and work from the spot meter.

I use A most of the time. I'll use manual if I have a tricky exposure, but don't generally feel the need to muck with all my settings. ;)
Right now my usual settings are A, WB-Shade, -1/3 200 ISO.

This is my approach as well. The only time I use full manual is when I want to override what the meter says. Av is my preferred mode, Tv when I want silky smooth waterfalls etc.. |

P probably 2/3rds the time, the rest on A/S depending on situation. Rarely fully manual, unless I'm doing something odd. The D70 is flexible enough on P to let you tweak shutter speed/aperture anyway.
Never touch all the other wierd and wacky auto modes - they do screwy things to focus and metering modes and generally confuse me :-)

Oh, I forgot to add ... the only way to get to AI Servo on the D Rebel is to switch to "sports mode" which kicks you up to iso 400 and doesn't allow any exposure tweaking.
There aren't words to express how much this sucks :(

Almost always on Manual because my A40 point & shoot doesn't even have Aperture priority on it, which is what I will often use once I get my dslr...soon, I hope. |

in most cases i'm in Aperture mode... sometimes Shutter priority. usually it's aperture, and half of that time is switched back and forth to manual.

I pretty much stay in Manual about 80% of the time, but i will switch to Av or Tv if the situation calls for it! |

I'm not experienced enough to get the exposure right using Manual without doing several trial & error shots. A lot of the time I use P mode as a sort of metering device- set to P, half push the shutter to see what settings the camera would select, and then switch to Av or Tv and change one or the other of the settings from the cams selection to tailor the shot to my liking. It's a slow process but I think this is teaching me about exposure. |

So shutter priority is pretty limited, compared to full Manual.
Having said that, I generally shoot in Aperature priority unless I'm indoors with very low ambient light. | Interesting. I checked with my camera and even in shutter priority, I can still shoot up to 1/16,0000 - 30 sec.
Guess it's nice but at the same, it's so extreme, those are not shutter speeds one will use often... or maybe I just don't have enough experience to know when to use those ;) |

Manual, almost 90% of the time. I use the other settings as needed about 10% of the time. I find more control over my photo when I can use manual with flash exposure compensation & white balance adjustments. :)
