The only thing is, Bear's right, error level analysis shows basically no hint of cloning (and it would, faking that would be impressive enough to deserve the prize in fact)..

So, despite the appearances, I think this is one of those times we need to trust the tools and remember that our senses can fool us.

Upon further examination, and analysis of each individual pixel, I conclude that there is a leprechaun riding a unicorn where the hand should be.

Also mostly jaded group of critics. I still say it's a visual anomaly - and one easily overlooked since I never would have noticed it and still don't see anything wrong with it. If it turns out to be fake, I will join the forces of the jaded and never trust anything I see again. ;-)

Is there any info somewhere on a validation process?

But that is not a realistic angle in my opinion. You are assuming the arm is 'dropped' or 'hanging' as opposed to extended. If it is extended it is right where it should be. The angle of the shadow on the robe even indicates the arm is raised and extended.

Upon closer examination, I am gonna say that the one kid's buttcrack is unnaturally high. Obviously shopped for effect.

Hmm...interesting...now I have to re-evaluate my whole opinion of the shot.

Thanks (KEN!!!!!!!!) Art!

Following Johanna's link, here's a higher-res version of the image. Now I'm coming back to the "obviously 'shopped" camp. I'm like a ping-pong ball on this one.

Look at the six fingered guy in the second image (click the dot under the image). SHOPPED.

And I think Highnooner had included that high-res image in his original post: (click "view full-sized")

FYI...this is not photoshopped... (explanation in the notes)

Google "Looks photoshopped but it's not" - granted, most of that is intentional optical trickery, but there are plenty of things out there that look distorted or wrong but are legit. I gotta believe they vetted the photo before handing out the money, but I still concede I could be wrong.

Interestingly, looking at that reinforces my perception that the photo isn't shopped.

What an interesting study in human perspective and interpretation this has become :)

Like I said previously, trust the tool (ELA) not your senses. The ELA showed no manipulation in that area, absolutely none, so I can't imagine it's been shopped.
