Smoke in past tense - DPChallenge Forums

This was something I was toying with submiting for Smoke...let me know what you think, and if it doesn't fit smoke do you like it at all.

The picture is interesting and must have took a little setup. I don't understand the connection with the grass though, other than thats where most smokers throw their butts. It seems to unnatural, for it to be sitting up like that in the grass.

That's the funny part, there was no setup at all, I walked outside my apartment and saw it in the grass just like that, I did nothing at all besides click the shutter.

ah, i see yours doesnt have smoke either! we had kind of the same thought process with the tobacco product i see.

i like your shot--the colors are great, but would worry that you would get the same kind of comments about "smoke" not being the central focus of the composition...like i figured i would get in my own pic that i didn't enter... since the smoke didnt show up i figured it would suffer.
