my membership is set to run out in 4 days, i'll be renewing in the spring, but in the mean time, do my images get deleted from my workshop or will they be there when i renew and i just can't add new things/access them in the mean time?
And if i enter a challenge by uploading the image before my membership runs out, but the challenge doesn't start until AFTER my membership expires, will my entry still go in since i entered when i was a member? |

I've had short lapses (week or two) in membership between renewals. Nothing gets deleted from portfolio or workshop. |

Nothing will be deleted from your portfolio. Entries made while you were a member will still be valid if your membership lapses in mid-challenge. |

So how come you're so good a hockey but get swamped by the Dutch in speed-skating? |

That doesn't affect the short-track races which are almost entirely turns ... |

I've even been there ΓΆ€” in mid-Summer. But in some other thread we talked about skating on the canal ... I thnk I was wondering how people got past the locks. |

Hey, we got 3 of those. Sadly, Canada's best skater in that discipline fell in 3 events before hitting the medal rounds, after winning a gold in his WORST event. Tough breaks, sometimes I think they should just call it full contact speed skating.
But then, I guess that would just be Red Bull crashed ice. |

They don't, there is a roughly 8km (5m) stretch between the locks downtown and those at Carleton University. All but a couple of hundred meters are cleared for skating. They don't actually clear the entire ice surface though, just about 10m up the middle, with some wider sections downtown.
It's pretty cool, when I first moved to Ottawa I couldn't believe the crowds on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Thousands of skaters from one end to the other.
