I worked in the RTA building which still has Nipper the Dog on top (a sizable statue) to this day. It is on Broadway in Menands, NY (on the outskirts of Albany, along the Hudson River). I will now have to go visit my grandkids and take a picture when I pass. You can see it for miles if you are in the Hudson Valley near Albany. A few years ago there was a terrible truck accident on the NYS Thruway that involved a sign that was a truck (semi) on the roof of a building. Long story short, the lawsuit that evolved from this brought into question Nipper and also a U-Haul truck that were mounted on buildings and visible from highways in Albany. Even the Huck Finn's Warehouse sign (which is visible from the local highway - 787 same as where the UHAUL is visible and Nipper) came into question. But they all were allowed except for the one near the exit on the NYS Thruway where the accident happened.

I received a message asking if I misstated the building name. More info and a picture here. "March 2006: David Cranston points out that the building was never owned by RCA, but instead by the "RTA Corporation."" When I worked in the building, it was still owned by RTA Corp and housed RCA and Whirlpool distribution and parts centers. There were a lot of studios on the upper floors that were used as product showcases for print ads.
