I would just like to ask everyone who is voting on the travel guide challenge to take a moment and go back through their votes. Please take a little time to consider all the photos that are not sparkly sunsets and make sure that your scores reflect each photo's own merit. I think that there are some really nice, out of the box but on target with the challenge, photos that may not do as well as they should simply because they are up against the lovely scenic landscape sunset types. I went back through, eliminating the landscapes, and found that I modified several scores. Just a thought for everyone to consider.

Oh c'mon guys...
If you open a traveling guide, you will find tons of lovely scenic landscape sunsets in different places in the world. So what's the big deal?
You can't avoid the fact that people's vote is based a bit on the challenge rules, and a lot on their own personal taste.
If you feel that you can't compete those marvelous sunsets - start shooting them.
By the way, the photoes that got my 10s on this challenge, had nothing to do with sunset...

My comment is not meant to belittle the scenic sunsets. I think many of them are VERY nice and deserving of 10s. I just think there are many of them and a person may come to expect them while voting on this challenge. Just asking that people take a second look at the non-sunset entrys. Thats all. |
