Anyone ever entered the weather channel picture of the day/week contest? Some of you probably already knew about it but I did not until I was checking out hurricane Ivan. If your picture is picked it will be shown on "The Weather Channel" on Sunday at 1:00pm and 2:30pm. You can find the details in the link below.

I entered once with a truly bad picture of lightning that I was thought was super cool back in the day. It didnt win, which wasnt surprising. Still a very fun thing to do, though!
Incidentally, if you have weatherbug (a desktop weather thingie that is actually pretty cool) then you can submit images there too. I had one in the photo hall of fame a while ago, no idea if it is still there.

I submitted three photos, and considering the quality of some of the photos there, even I should be able to get some recognition there. I mean, there was a baby shot and the child's head was all blurred yet it was picked.

I submitted a few lightning pics which never resulted in anything on that site. Its rigged

I entered these two Mammatus clouds
 
But it was the same day as the winner with same type of clouds in Colorado Springs. Van |
