I just bought a 3 lense filter kit for my Nikon, it comes with a wide adapter and a tele adapter ring. I put the wide adapter ring on my camera, attached a filter, turned the camera on. So far so good. I then went to zoom in and got a lens error on my lcd screen. It seems the lens is to long for the adapter. Is this normal? Am i doing something wrong? Should i not try to zoom when using them? What is the point of having a tele adapter when the wide one is to short? Why does it even need these adapters? HELP!

the wide filter more than likely is not made to use the zoom, thats why its called a wide filter

you need to go to the menu and set the specific one for having the adapter on. There is one there. It is so you don't do exactly what you did, or scratch or break your lens.
