Ok, so my experience...
I bought several cheaper cable releases, and found that inevitably they would fail, usually at the switch..
Perhaps a more expensive one like this would do better, and has a timer function as well... (Hard to complain about the price too, and Neewer is a well-known off-brand...)
However, you may want to spend a few dollars more, and do what I did...
I purchased a set of Yongnuo RF-603's and a $1 package of metal alligator clips.. The Yongnuo has an included cable which is useful for remote release functionality, but there isn't a bulb mode, so I simply unplug the cord from the RF-603 unit, and clip the alligator clip on the 2.5mm plug, viola, reliable, easily portable, and you get a bonus set of radio triggers. |
