Spent the morning shooting for the street photography challenge. Really got some nice stuff. Came home. Realized I was shooting RAW the whole time. Damn.

I suppose it isn't terrible. I've got my free study entry, and it's only the 4th.

isn't there an imbedded jpeg that the camera sticks in, which could potentially be extracted?

There is. I'm not sure what would happen at image validation time, though.

that's why it pays to shoot RAW+ ...which is at least an option on my canons ;-)

I have been shooting RAW+JPEG on my Sony for ages, but then I forgot to switch the D800 over.
