I'm looking to buy a PDA, I've tended to prefer Palm devices in the past and am seriously considering the T3.
OK, why am I posting this on here?
One of the tasks that I want my PDA to perform is being an image viewer, I'll be using it with SD cards (so the SD slot is a must), I'm hoping that there are other on here using their PDAs in a similar way and can hopefully give me some advice/warnings
Thanks in advance
Darren

I bought an iPAQ recently thinking that one of it's uses would be to help me view my pictures... (It has a CF slot built in!) Unfortunately it is painfully slow and the image quality is not really good enough to improve much on the camera LCD (Canon 300D)
I also thought I'd use it to show relatives my work. (how geeky to pass them a PDA instead of a pack of prints!!) it is too slow for that also, and again the screen is not really good enough.
Regards
Chris

I've got a high end Toshiba PDA. I prefer the windows style OS to the Palm stuff and not needing to do the palm form of text recnotion was a huge bonus for me.
I would NEVER get a Toshiba again though. Great PDA in general but even when completely wiped out and hard reset the alarm fails to activate, even on full charge and following a soft reset before bed, about 1 time in 3 (Toshiba cust service were a complete waste of time( ... making it absolutely hopeless as an alarm. Anyway, I digress
I agree completely with what Chrisds said .... too slow, poor quality for images. Mine also doesn;t always like the 1Gb CF card.

I also agree, the screens on most PDA's just don't cut it...I got an iPAQ [2215] - which has a comparably decent screen but it's not great for image viewing.
Edited: It's an iPAQ 2215.

I have the T3. It is a pretty nice little unit. I like the fact that the screen slides so you can have it in a more compact mode if you need it. The only images I have viewed on it are the ones that came with it. I don't have any SD cards so I haven't really tried it yet. The images that are on it do look decent. The viewing area of the screen is alot larger than your screen on your camrea. So in that instance it is better to show images with it over your camera. Image quality is about the same as your camera. It does have a 400MHz processor and 64mb of internal storage. The processor does move images around quickly. You can also do a slide show with them. |

Looks like the screen resolution on the T3 is 320 x 480 (153K pixels), which is twice as much as most PDA's which are 240 x 320 (76K pixels).
Colda, your DMC-FZ2's lcd has 114K pixels, the digital rebel's lcd 118k.
So a PDA with a 320 x 480 screen should be sufficient, but if you're hoping to use your PDA for photos then any less would be no good...the 240x320 screens would be lower quality than your lcd.
Like I said, I really like my iPAQ a lot but if displaying photos is a big priority for you it looks like the T3 is a winner (or any others with a 320 x 480 screen...I'm not sure what else is out there).
Hope this helps.
