For me 2013 was good here (and pretty much only here)
8 ribbons of all colors and 11 top tens + some deadguy hands

We want all the stats -- how many entries?
Nice collage! What program did you use? |

Ah... painful... I was just thinking I should do DPC collages over the years (entries). I don't think I'll do it that way. 629 would be too painful! :)
It did seem quite nice for an automated program. I was afraid you'd say it was by hand. :) |

Nice idea, but I'm not ready yet with 2013 ;)
Btw. Picasa can make a collage the easy way. |

Wendy, there is a good program for creating photomosaics called Andrea. It's what my friend Lloyd used to create the body for the "Gator in the Bay" project for Basel Art Miami.
There were 104 panels with about 4,500 images on each panel. With all the panels assembled to form the complete mosaic, the finished artwork was about 185 ft long. I believe he started with around 3,500 images as source files.
You probably have enough challenge shots to make a DPC logo mosaic, or one of most any subject you choose.
Here's a link to their website;

I've used this a little bit -- what's cool is that it makes a mosaic version of your "current" image using your old photos in place of the colored tiles.
I took a lot of old photos and batch-resized them smaller for the program to use ... I also made a batch from the Flip/Blend abstracts we make (see this thread). Here is one modest example ...

I got some paws and a hand...
Plus four ribbons. Not a bad year for me. |

2013 wasn't too bad for me either. No ribbons, but 14 top ten places.
And I couldn't resist playing with AndreaMosaic and all my 2013 entries :)

It was a great year: 58 challenges with an average score of 5.7917, my first ribbon and HM, 6 TT places in total, 25 points (91st place) in the Unofficial Ribbon Race... Will be hard to improve next year, but I'll give it a try!

I'm writing off 2013 as a bit of a fail. I hit my peak a few years back and have been slowly slipping downward as far as DPC goes ever since. And I am such a glutton for punishment that I just renewed. Some people have no sense at all. |

I think it was a success for me. I was able to dig myself out of a creative rut, and wound up entering 8 challenges with nearly all getting voted slightly higher than the last. Certainly could be worse! |
