There, she's at 33% now.
Will get back later on for some more voting.

Over 33% now, wow, you guys are amazing.

B has started active voting as well now.

When does voting end? I can't find anything about this on the page.

Just to confirm, 3 people are going to be disappointed because a pointless voting system deems them less worthy than their peers? And the winner knows that they won because of a rigged a flawed voting system? People are voting for somebody they don't know based on a request from a relation? This sounds like a Syrian election.

There is something I truly do NOT understand. I vote for your daughter and in every single instance the D image also goes up by one vote.

Has anyone figured it out yet.

Sounds like a way for USA Today to generate page hits to bulk up their advertising rates. Got nothing to do with the "contest" at all. But the contest, such as it is, seems to be "who can generate the most hits for us", right?

I kept an eye on each of the other participants while voting.
It looks as if the percentages of the others are moving, but if D rises, the others are indeed going down (when they are not voting of course).

There is some unusual behaviour of the digits - like e.g. the last digit changing briefly into another one before changing to the final digit.
But as far as I could see all seems to go right.

Any techie could probably code an auto-voter for this in an hour or two.

Well I have given many votes but I cannot keep up with whoever is voting for person D. They must have that auto-voter JH was talking about.

When voting alone against 1 or more competitors, it's hard. But when you're a few, then you see the score actually changing very quickly and ithat motivates as well. Yesterday I noticed there were actually 3 or 4 other peopke voting at the same time as myself. Man, you should have seen that score moving on...like an arrow.

Edit to correct typing errors: those stupid tiny keys on a mobile phone are not made for posting

+ 150 votes, but barely any progress. Something strange is going on here!
12/16/2013 08:03:12 AM · #38
Indeed, strange...
It took us a whole weekend to decrease the gap with a bit over 3% while D succeeds in increasing the gap again with +-3% in less than 12h??
Smells fishy if your asking me.

I thought something was wrong a long time ago (see above) but I was told I was hallucinating. It does not appear to happen all the time.

Just now clicked on the link and got the following message:

ROUND 2 SEEDING BASED ON ROUND 1 RESULTS:
ROUND 2 HAS ENDED. PLEASE COME BACK TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17TH FOR THE FINAL ROUND AND SHOW SUPPORT FOR YOUR ULTIMATE ATHLETE. VOTING FOR THE FINAL ROUND BEGINS AT NOON ET.

Did your daughter make it to round 2 and beyond.

Thanks for everyone's time and votes - my daughter is not moving on to the finals (top 8 athletes) she made the semi finals but could not compete with the voting machine of "d". Thanks again.

And in that race there is a standout voting machine -JAĆ¢€™QUAN GARDNER with 43k + votes and his nearest competitor is at 11k. The letter D from the race we voted on is not even a contender at this point.

Now this is just for fun, but I say we pick a person and apply our collective anonymous votes and see what kind of voting machine DPC really has...
