They were calling for a coating to an inch before turning to rain. We've got a good 6 or 7 inches already and it's still coming down hard.

If I said I missed it... I would be lying... However, it seems like a perfect weather for the kids! |

Beautiful views and fun for kids, but a pain in the butt when you have to participate in the traffic.
Be careful.
I hope here they'll wait another 2 weeks with this type of weather so that I don't have to commute to work in it.
Perfect moment would be as from January 17th: then I'll be at home immobilized for at least 5 weeks. |

We made it through the night without our pipes freezing. Yay!

I couldn't go anywhere if I wanted to. There was an accident on my street about 4 hours ago and it's still a parking lot. I wouldn't even be able to get out of my driveway. It's a complete sheet of ice so I wouldn't even try even if the traffic wasn't still there.

For me it was laughable, being born and raised in Connecticut and Idaho. Yesterdays storm here in the St. George area only the 5th in December, and 19th ever recorded in 115 years with depths that rarely reach 2 inches and melting by 10:00 AM. This storm laid down 6 inches, and caused a complete melt down of street clearing and emergency services, add drivers that have little to no knowledge of how to drive in snow or ice and you have a mess. |

I was at oxford valley mall, went to see frozen with kids and while coming back at traffic light I stopped and then I had tough time to drive again because wheels were kept on rolling and skidding on road but car was not moving at all :( Eventually somehow I get back on road and headed back home!

Sounds to me like you made winter driving mistake #1: too heavy on the gas pedal. I see it all the time. People think that if they hit the gas, they will go. But you have to ease on the gas slowly to use torque to start slowly. |

There was just a plow truck sideways on my street. LOL! It's one lane each direction, yet there were people trying to pass him on both sides. Idiot drivers. |

Agreed! But in my case I was going up on the road that had elevation and I had to stop because of traffic light and than got in to the situation :)
