Don, if we're going to have voting and ribbons and such, we cannot allow "cheating" ... some photographers may chose to compromise their integrity, but I don't think the site should.

If the challenge is simply "for fun" then make it a side challenge where it is not possible to cheat anyone but yourself.

I'm talking about dnmc, not cheating. "Cheating" is Cory's term.

So here's the thing. EVERY challenge offers the opportunity to cheat. One can change the time on their camera. One can use someone else's work. One can frig with the exif. Boundless opportunities to cheat. So should we just stop having challenges and only do side challenges? Nope. In life, people cheat all the time. Good things happen to really bad people. Bad things happen to really good people. In short, life can sometimes make you take it up the shorts and not a damn thing you can do about it. So go forth and do what you CAN do. Do it well. Do it honorably. If the guy next to you is cheating, you can't stop that, without drastic measures that also curtail YOUR enjoyment. Is winning everything? I don't think so. If it IS, then you're probably gonna want to either do your best and see how the chips fall, or cheat. Depends on your personal constitution.

Those are all things which leave a (sometimes tenuous) trail of evidence by which we can catch "cheaters" -- it has been done in the past, and it takes some real effort to accomplish (more than opening one's eyes). However, this challenges proposes a technique for which there is no way (perhaps other than submission of a notarized affidavit from a witness) for us to verify compliance.

Some cameras probably reset from Daylight Saving automatically, others certainly don't ... you should check the clock yourself.

You'll need to do that manually. :)

Me too. The only bad part was crossing the street.
