Do this on any challenge you choose.

Having a challenge like this is pure crap - why? I don't trust that people won't lie about it, and neither should you.

In effect this is a freestudy, with an optional handicap for the honorable.

...

Sorry Anita, but I think this sort of challenge shouldn't ever appear again. We need challenges that are votable, and gradable - and don't rely on trusting people to not cheat.

Here's the last one that won a challenge that was based on honor. People really don't seem to have much honor.. I suppose at least the photographer let this ribbon lapse once he spent the week on the front page.

I tend to agree. Just ends up causing bad blood.

as far as all was concerned we had fun, and that's what is lacking lately I feel.

What happened to that shot anyway, did he take it outside the challenge dates, he didn't explain?

I suspect he felt bad about it and let it get DQd (didn't submit original)

I'm all for this. I think it's precisely the sort of challenege we should do more of here. Just the sort of thing i enjoy. Had a lot of fun with the last one.

My concern is that it will be pure crop. For that reason, I think it should be Minimal. But I can live with Basic so long as we all agree to also close our eyes while we manipulate Photoshop.

A lot of my photos look like I closed my eyes when I took them.

Seriously though, I'm with Cory. It's been proven in the past that many of these "honor" challenges end up with ribbons (as virtual as they may be) going to photographs that are less than honorable.

I started here in 2004, and the first "honor" brouhaha I remember was in 2006 with the "2 Second Exposure" challenge that was won by a 1/2 second exposure. (a beautiful photo none the less). It lead to a lot of name calling and bad feelings. It also lead to future "time" challenges having an extra rule, rather than just a description.

Some are saying that it would be "fun". How much "fun" is name calling and hurt feelings? Why poke that hornet's nest?

Those are the problems of those who choose to engage in either the cheating or the namecalling. Please don't involve the rest of us. We're here to have fun.

I loved this exercise and would enjoy it over and over. I remember voting too... great results! Let's do it!

I'm in. We did need one of these type challenges. We could also use a good 2, 3 or 4 panel challenge, with a nice twist.

Seems like we had quite a bit of interest last time. I'd be up for it again.
