So back home now, and I thought I would share some pics for you we took when we hired a ski boat on Lake Como. Lenno is where the famous Star wars scene was filmed, it was in eyes view of where we were staying in Lezzeno on the Lake a few mins by boat.
So I took these photos on the boat, I desperately wanted to see it on foot, but there were a ton of tourists there and already some boats parked near the jetty so my husband said we would go back maybe towards the end of the hire of the boat, but that's another story......so we set off again for another adventure and I spotted a really nice villa with some gorgeous gardens, and now I can't remember what it was called but here are some of the gardens, and the villa
So my husband dropped me off there, and I told him to pick me up in 45mins whilst I took some photo's.....so 45 mins passes and i go to the jetty to meet my husband and sons, and they are not there, not too worry I thought it's a big Lake, they're probably lost, so I wait and wait and wait, and sigh nearly one hour later they still no sight of them. By then I'm a little perplexed, so I figured I'd better find my own way back. So I head off to the town centre of this tiny village I'm in, and I said in my best Italian speaking voice to this gentleman that I met "excuse me, but where am i" he looked at me as if I was a green martian, and then preceded to tell me where I was, all that actually made no sense bc I still had to find my way home, so I asked him where the nearest bus stop was, and thankfully it was only about 100metres away, so off i went to catch my bus back to my town, thankfully it was only about a 20 min drive. I got back to the hotel and asked reception if they had seen my husband and children return with the boat, none of them had seen him, hmmmm I thought, we tried to ring him, but my husband didn't have his phone on him, don't you hate that!!!
Anyway to cut a long story short, my son, being the teenage he is, revved up the speed of the boat with great force that it took Luke by surprise and falling backwards he turned off the one switch on the boat that powers it, my hubbie not knowing what had happened was waiting for another boat to come by and help them, that took a long hour, but immediately the guy from the other boat knew what had happened, so anyway that was only one of the mishaps that had happened to us on our 7 week journey, nevertheless we look back now and laugh at them all, and count our blessings that none of us died or were hurt.

Thanks for sharing that, Neat. It's amazing how time can change a disastrously frustrating experience into a fond memory. Just one of the many charms of travel. |

so true, at the time it's highly frustrating but later on you can look back and laugh at all those circumstances....and I didn't tell you about the time we got stuck In the centre of Florence with our rental car, driving down one way streets the wrong way, and probably down ZTL zones, (i'm hoping I get no fines in the months to come)
All bc the GPS has no idea how to get us to a country town without driving through the centre of a city!! Actually it does, we just took one wrong turn, but still does IT HAVE TO TAKE US INTO THE BUSIEST CITY IN ITALY, AND ONE WHICH I'D HAD READ ABOUT BEFORE I LEFT, AND WHERE EVERYONE ON TRIP ADVISOR SAID, DON'T DRIVE IN FLORENCE, SIGH!!! It gook us a good half an hour to get out of that one, but thankfully not a scratch on the car.
We did get a flat tyre though, on one trip down a mountain, then couldn't get the tyre off! |

Never imagine that you'll drive in Firenze. Now, oncw the crime was committed and acknowledged the only way out of this shame is to go back "a piedi" .
I would love to see more pictures. Did yougo to Bellagio? I missed it and plan to go back subito!
So, you have now a Rebel? No panasonic. |

You keep saying we don't need to drive, but to see Tuscany one must have a car. We took a train to many other cities though.
Yes we went to Bellagio truly amazing....will dig up some photos and post them here for you.
Had the Rebel for a while now, and it wasn't a panasonic but a pentax, i still use that for my wide angle shots. |

For Mariuca photos of Bellagio Lake Como.
I met this couple on the bus (from Washington DC)he reminded me of Richard Dreyfuss along with a woman from Perth who lives where I lived before me moved to our present home, such a small world we live in.
