Using only advanced editing, take a picture where the subject is visibly and significantly distorted by capture technique (fisheye, reflections, perspective, found filters, etc.).

Excellent and original suggestion! +1

If you want to emphasize "capture technique" (especially concerning perspective) you might consider making it Basic or Minimal editing -- I don't want to be judging whether someone's use of the Perspective tool is "too much" or not.

Otherwise I think it's a great idea.

Just flag it with a special rule: "For this challenge, use of perspective, skew, and liquify-type tools is not allowed."

I like the description and support the special rule.

How would someone shoot something like this especially if we don't have fish eye lenses or whatever special effect lenses...with my budget, I won't be going out and purchasing extra equipment just for using it for a one time challenge..

The only way I would know how to make something like that is to use those tool effects...

I do like the idea to learn something new and different though :-))

I would love to see what people come up with!

+1

(Julie - Tanguera's suggestions such as perspective, reflections, and found filters wouldn't necessarily require special equipment. I tried Saran Wrap as a kind of found filter once - mind you I was not successful in matching my vision - but it did distort.)

I think it would bring a lot of new creativity on to this

can we just make it expert editing and
really get crazy with it lolol

No. Not this time. Expert would be a whole 'nuther kettle of fish.

I've never done it, but the first thing that popped in to my head was to put a drinking glass over my lens. That may just make a mess, but it would fall in to the "found filter" category.

Found filters are fun. And addictive.

Found filters... There is no exclusions of what you put over the lens then is that correct?

Distortion can be interpreted a myriad of ways.

I think just keystoning the crap out of a building or something would be good enough.

Oh but where is the fun in THAT? Much more fun trying to find "filters", smearing vaseline over old UV filters, shoving assorted glasses etc over the lens, etc
