Please NOTE: After lengthy discussion and debate, the former blue ribbon image has been disqualified for adding features. This was not an easy decision for us, but given that the milk splashes were cloned in to make them appear more numerous, we felt the rule against added features was violated.
We would like to extend our apologies to the new 3rd place image which was denied a place on the front page, but is not less deserving of the honour of the yellow ribbon in this challenge.

A.) It's a shame, because the image would have been just a good without the extra splashes.
B.) Isn't adding things to the photo that weren't there in the original a clear-cut rules violation? Why would there be a "lengthy discussion and debate"? |

Well, we like to give leeway, and we wanted to be sure what we were seeing was an addition, and not just a good crop and editing, for example. |

Suggestion: 3 or 4 day statute of limitations on DQing any entry and if the SC can't come to a consensus within that time, the entry stands.
Seems pointless to even continue to debate long after the challenge winners drift off the front page. |

A lovely idea that doesn't address two of our main challenges:
1. We need more SC to reach a statistically significant consensus (quorum)
2. If we let bad entries stand, they make bad precedents so we must avoid this as much as possible.

Number 1 is something that should be easily rectified. In lieu of that, assign a senior SC the final word and just make the call one way or another. If for whatever reason, the time expires and a decision was not made, note it on the entry that the time had expired without validation and let it stand. Bad precedents have occurred on several occasions in the past and it's a lesser evil than DQing an image long after it rotated off the front page.
In reality I'm fairly apathetic about the whole thing, but am in a pot-stirring mood today. ;-) |

Safer since y'all voted to make the pot legal, but be careful -- apathy is one of the known side-effects ... ;-) |

So why not fix the challenge page to show the new placings? As it is it is just showing the red and a yellow ribbons and there isn't any evidence of them getting promoted other than an absence of a blue.

Recalculations have to be done by Langdon -- SC can't do them, and it would take a re-calculation for the ribbons to change. Hopefully it can happen soon, but we can guarantee nothing. |

We don't at all control that. |

What's going on with Langdon anyway? 10/15... it's gonna be 2 months soon and Kobba still has a red ribbon instead of the blue one he deserves, and the person who should have yellow ribbon didn't get anything
Also, not related to the subject, the TPL2 finals are about to start in 2 days and one of our teammates hopefulcrafty1 has basically NO access to DPC. It's explained in this thread which she created when she was still able to read the forum. Who is in charge of all this stuff? A girl being charged for two years and not getting access at all? Her and other people try to contact the SC and Langdon, and NO RESPONSE... I don't get it at all.

Hey great minds thing alike:)
I think it is becoming a joke really. I could understand if the site was free but we pay good money (not a huge amount I admit) and should expect a decent standard of service. He should just close the site if he does not have the decency or capacity to offer the customer service we deserve. The site still doesn't work on the iPad - come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I really, really wish I didn't pay $45 in October or whatever month that was. I got more space on my account other than paying for one year. But the situation here is just pathetic. Before I used to laugh at it but now it's just way too much to handle. Did Langdon disappear somewhere in Europe or what? I wish I could get my $45 back because I'm leaving this site as soon as the TPL2 finals are over. Unbelievable. |

Seems like that guy - scooter88 - who's been waiting on his yellow ribbon for almost two months now, stopped participating in DPC life in October. I totally don't blame him... And it looks like he used to be really active in challenges. Sad.

FWIW, I bought a gift membership this week, and I don't have a clue where it is, or how to use it. I just followed the instructions, and DPC now has my money, but I don't have a clue what to expect from them for it.
Seriously, am I suppose to receive a coupon code or something?
I KNOW Langdon will make all of this right, eventually anyway, but it's very clear that something does need to change.

That sucks Cory! I'm sorry. I guess I was lucky that my payment at least went through. Trollman got me a gift code last year but I have no idea how he got the code. And like I told Ken in the other thread "Langdon will eventually straighten things out" doesn't sound very promising. He can't even fix challenge results for 2 months... seriously? |
