Anyone have any question about moving to DSLR's please PM me so I can include it in the tutorial. The tutorial should be ready by the beginning of October.

one thing i would suggest is to save up twice what the body is worth for other equipment.

i wish i had that option - baby steps for me ;}

Really, a lot of what you need to know about going to a SLR has to do with understanding the differencee between SLR lenses (not focal lengths, but different types of SLR lenses.)

Being in the midst of that myself, I have to say, I'm wasting a lot of time trying to find a walk-around lens equivalent to the 7-10x range I would have gotten if I bought the Minolta A1, Canon Pro 1, etc. So how about advice on a good general purpose walk around lens. Or links to places that review them, like PhotoDo.

I have also been surprised when looking at the quality analysis of SLR lenses (non L). You see the poor quality at wide open. On a G2, I could shoot wide open and get pretty good results. Why? (And why do compact digital cameras get better DOF at an eqivalent F-stop?)

Just some thoughts...
