Litarary Adventure (March 2006)

seven and a half years is a good long wait for the second iteration

ETA.....ahhhhhhh....one of my all time bad decisions:

I like the idea as well although 'classics' may be subjective. I think it would be interesting to use the Expert Editing to use text and turn it into a bit of a book cover design challenge. I always liked doing book covers.

I like how a comic came third in that challenge.

Ok -- am I in a parallel universe? How did I not enter a literary adventures challenge, and how did Don get a 6.9?

I can't help you with the second part, but the first part is easy. It happened about two years and 10 months before you signed up.

Larry pointed out the obvious, and for the second part, Don's a very literary guy :-)

Does it have to be a classic? I want a Gyaban trashy romance novel cover.

Hell, I don't know what I would do in such a challenge. The fun would be in figuring it out..

alas, litas are scarce in my neighborhood.

I guess if anyone was stuck for ideas, the Bible is a classic novel of epic proportions..

That would be a great challenge in itself: Religious texts. //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_text

LOL, you might be right, BUT, after reading past religious threads that might be a Pandora's Box Langdon will be unwilling to open..

yes, let's have a debate over whether the Bible is a novel or a memoir. We should be able to resolve that pretty quickly and then we can move on to The Bell Jar.

I don't wanna be part of that debate but I clearly remember my favorite teacher at High school saying that the Bible was the best fantasy book ever.

So, this will be a difficult one.

And with the word "classic" being subjective, I have a feeling that its essentially a free study that you can find a title to fit.

That in mind, I have my image in mind.
Don't know WHERE I can go around here to find it though.

So, this being a purely subjective challenge ... what's considered a "classic"?

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Slaughterhouse Five. Lord of the Flies. Brave New World. Valley of the Dolls. A Clockwork Orange. The World According to Garp. The French Lieutenant's Woman. Cold Comfort Farm. Dracula. Outerbridge Reach. Everything that Rises Must Converge. Love in the Time of Cholera. The Bridge on the River Kwai. Goodbye, Mr. Chips. Childhood's End. Ringworld. Rendezvous with Rama. The Old Man and the Sea. Carrie. Ramona. Little House on the Prairie. Main Street. The Great Gatsby. Moby Dick.

It's all subjective :-)

For a very relevant choice, Ender's Game would be acceptable I think.
