I didn't get much feedback on my fairy tale entry, but thank you to those who did comment. Would this one have finished better?

Left this comment on the image:
I would have chosen a different pose and a different place to have her. I really would have liked to see this outside, but the blank wall works fine.
The sepia was a good idea because the original that you posted in the forums had waaay too much noise for it to be okay in color. Try a lower ISO next time. It's still distracting in this version as well.
You've got a great start there, it just needs some tweaking!

Thanks for the insight. I knew it had too much noise. I am still learning, and it was a stupid newbie mistake coupled with really poor lighting. I had to either use what I had or skip the challenge. Couldn't stand to skip. Thanks again. |

Ah ha... so your like me and can't miss one either! lol
Well actually I take it as part of the challenge! Its not just the photo its the restriction of time to get the photo so if I have something I don't like well just go with that. It is surprising how well those photos go!
Also unless they are really really well done photos of your kids don't seem to do well here and I think that is because as a parent you look at a photo of your child rather than look at the photo for quality. Does that make sense?

Since there is already a thread about Fairy Tales Scores I'll post this here:
My submission:
Enchanted
Would it have done diffrently with an other title.
Was thinking about having the title something like:
Looking at his reflection for the first time after the spell.
First look at the enchantment.

I think simply "Swan Lake" would have been a fine title, at the same time telling people which fairy tale it was if they didn't know.
"Looking at his reflection for the first time after the spell." is really far too long and I really dislike titles like this. I may even take off a point or two if the title is too long and descriptive of the photo. Even worse is when people put 2 titles and things in brackets etc. In my opinion a title is part of the overall presentation so it has to fit in well and look professional.
"First look at the enchantment." is quite good, and could have been quite nice if used, but I dont know if any change in title would effect the overall score that much.

Yes, I don't like titles that are very long but I think I had it too short this time.
I was just wondering since I got comments that the picture was not too fairy tail...
The answer to:
What where you thinking question that many ask them selfs while voteing:
Many fairy tales are of enchanted swans.
My idea was to catch a swan looking at his enchanted reflection for the first time.
And I don't think I could have capture this idea any better.

I really thought Enchanted would be a top 3. I got it, and I thought it was great. Who knows? |
