We country folks tend to forgive those that trespass against us... :O)

I know a lot of folks in Oregon and Washington that use to be that way too... until it happened so much by people that had no consideration for fences, locked buildings, barns and storage facilities, live stock or crops, that they finally got fed up with it. I've seen too many photographers on here and other sites that getting the picture is everything and they don't let anything get in their way to get it, no mater where they have to trespass or what property they have to damage to get it. It only takes a few to ruin it for everyone and unfortunately in the photography community, we've had more than a few that have very little consideration for someone elses property. Yes, forgive those that trespass against us... after they have paid the fine and spent the time. ;)

I would like it if I lived in a rural area... not sure what I'd find that fits the challenge in the city though. |

I feel the same when there's a "Cityscape" or "Urban Landscape" challenge. |

Some do.
Of course a farmer or rancher who's had his gates left open, crops driven over, livestock let out or what-have-you is a lot less likely to simply forgive.
I know a farmer who had problems with idiots 4-wheeling in their trucks through one of his fields. He caught one guy out there after his truck had broken down and the guy had gone to get something to help pull it out. The farmer got his tractor and plowed all around the guy's truck, then put down a few thousand gallons of water to make some extra deep and sticky mud before padlocking the gates and calling the sheriff. |

I do not live what I call a rural area, but I plan to leave the city area to go take photos for this challenge.
This will be a self gratifying reason to go somewhere and enjoy photography!

Yes:
City Life
City Life II
City Nightscape
Urban Decay
Urban Landscapes
Urban Landscapes II
Urban Landscapes III
Urban Landscapes IV
To name a few, my search of challenge topics was simply looking at "City" and "Urban" as keywords and I'm sure there may be other urban-centric challenge topics from the past.
To be fair, there have also been other challenge topics that are more suited to the rural environment.

We are a community with members located at almost every latitude and longitude, in a variety of habitats. Every challenge will present a greater challenge to some people than to others; if you live in Nebraska then "Mountains" are hard to find, likewise "Snow" if you live in Florida.
But I think these are the challenges which present the greatest opportunity to get creative, try new things, have fun** ... if you don't have a rural landscape handy, try creating one of your own...Playground at a local city park: From my driveway toward the neighbor's lawn:
In a box full of sand: In a friend's front-yard rock garden:
**Easier if you are not obsessed with your overall average score.

This topic would be a lot of fun.
Even those who are completely citybound can find some secluded area in a park
or, yes, simply make up a country scene. Haystacks can't be that hard to make!
Oh, I hope this comes up for consideration soon.
This is a good time of year for this challenge in any hemisphere. |

It was not my intent to sound like I'm complaining about the amount of city scapes/street challenges...I'm not. I'm just saying it's been awhile since we've had anything rural...I know in May we did Abandoned (or some such)
I'm just excited to be in an area that is rich with views....for once... |
