My Norwegian is a bit weak, so I wonder what the message on the last frame says. Something about making miracles - makes me wonder if it's an ad of some sort. (The girl at 1:27 looks like a very chubby version of my goddaughter.) |

Yes, very nice :)
I can't understand why someone wants to imitate my stupid country, but maybe in Norway they don't know very well Italy ^_^
ETA: for the ones who don't know, O sole mio, is not a traditional italian song. Every time there's a representation of Italy I hear that song, but that is a traditional song of Naples. Even most words are in Naples dialect. |

What? That's terrible. In that case I think the proposal should be null and void, and he should be forced to do it again - properly this time. |

LOL :)
O sole mio
Italy is always represented like a country where everyone listens to music played with mandolin and with an atmosphere typical of Naples/southern Italy. People from the North are COMPLETELY in a different mood, but also people who live in the center, or different areas of South can't be described like that.
South of Italy is always sunny, messy, noisy. North is foggy, much more tidy, much less noisy.
But I don't want to hijack the thread, it was just to let you know :) |

Aw, c'mon: that's Hollywood over-the-top choreographed-to-the-point-of-absurdity commercialized PAP: the Norwegian one is sweet and human and involves a village of 110 people who actually KNOW each other and the couple :-) |

So do I. In her place that's what I would have done. The whole thing was SO embarrassing.

Does it make a difference that every single person on that island has known her all her life (or all their life, in the case of the kids) and that she undoubtedly knew her fiance would be popping the question soon, if not exactly then, and that HE undoubtedly knew she was of a mind to say yes?
Just curious. It certainly does from MY perspective, but maybe I'm weird. |
