Consider this a freestudy with a twist - go out to shoot something that will blow away the voters. The catch? You've gotta do this under the minimal ruleset.

Bonus points for the 'impossible', do something in minimal that is considered to be the forte of Advanced editing.

This is an opportunity - either to learn, or to show off what you've learned.

Grab your camera, check your settings twice, and go out to shoot something for minimal which is amazingly nice.

I can live with this -- could be fun. I like the idea of a minimal free study that doesn't replace the regular free study. It would be very interesting to see what people could come up with.

(still wish we could crop in minimal, though. Minimal without cropping still really benefits the setup shots while hurting the wildlife photographers. Cropping would even out the field.

Figured I'd beat on the dead horse a bit. :)

Ok, so your photography skills are undeniably grand.

Your stalking skills seem as though they may need a bit of work. :D

Hah! YOU try "stalking" waterbirds through a wetland and report back!

Waders, and patience. Let the birds come to you.

With that being said - I WOULD try this, I've actually considered it before, but I suspect the folks down here at the Bosque del Apache would probably get pretty pissy about it. ;)

I think we should. And hey, Wendy and cory together could prolly beat out everyone on this quest, and get fabulous documentation.

I almost went down to shoot it. Bosque Del Apache is just minutes away. Frankly though, as it turns out I don't really care too much. :D I just like good pictures, and found the little brown bird rather boring visually.

BTW: This is a more fun link. The interview is great. :D

Should be fun. I've been dodging and burning without photoshop since I was a child and I am real close to perfecting my real-life cloning techniques.

I tried that and ended up stuck in the muck, remember that Robert?

Very well indeed. I imagine Penny could dig up the shot of you stuck, if you wish :-) (snicker)

You should know by now that this website is really Overprocessed Photoshop Challenge Dot Com. A good picture has no place here, just excessive editing.

If this is how you feel, why are you here? Is it good sport to tell us how worthless we are?

I've entered images which meet the Minimal rule set into Expert Challenges. People enter all kinds of stuff here -- I think complaints like this are mostly directed at the "winning" pictures, but those of us who finish (much) lower in the pack are trying all kinds of things. Perhaps a few more supportive comments directed toward images which "dare to be different" -- even if not entirely successful -- would encourage more of the kind of thing you want?

Rule number one: ALWAYS follow a tnun link.
Rule number two: There should be more tnun links.

By golly, Cory has a point. A good point. (even though he likes double spacing. After all, he did it 'in camera.') Let's.

I taunt you by submitting actual pictures devoid of excessive photoshop, then I revel in the low scores you give me out of your ignorance.
