Took this for the backlighting challenge but d'uh............light has to be behind the object, not on the side :)

Thank you Sue! Love it and think it would have done well in the back light challenge. Your lines all draw you to the center of the flower which is nicely backlit!

Haha, nice shot... I still think i'd qualify as backlighting though. I got side lighting and bottom lighting, still no ideas for backlighting.

T'was originally a bit dark so upped the contrast, played with the levels and curves and lightened it slightly. Was holding it up against the sky as my backlight..........loads of fun!
Most of the rest suffered from shaky hand syndrome......very tricky holding a flower with one hand, camera with the other, focusing and taking the shot without a quiver!! Neighbours were out on their porch watching and giggling. :)

Oh yea, almost forgot, I had another side/back lit photo I took. No it's not an outtake or anything (was taken over the summer) and I won't be entering anything like it for the current challenge so please don't bitch me out.

Nice shot Brian! My flower pic's nothing like what I'll hopefully be entering either..........really did feel that that one had too much side light to be considered.

Thanks! I still like the flower shot you posted and probably would have given it high marks. I'm sure whatever you enter will look great.
I still have no idea what I am gonna enter. I'd better think of something good quick, I need one more ribbon before I can enter the masters challenge. >:) |
