I want to let everyone know that i will be leaving DPC for a while. This place has been great and I know I've been kind a dickish lately. I've had some issues in my personal life that have caused my to be a bit edgy and I used this place to vent more than I should have, I'm sorry you guys had to bear witness to my stress.
I'm not giving up photography but its going to be taking a backseat to some more pressing issues I need to get worked out. Hopefully they get resolved sooner rather than later.
I'll probably check in from time to time to see whats going on but I doubt I'll participate in discussions or challenges or even voting for a while. This place has given a lot to me and I hope to be back soon.

That sucks. I hope you get whatever it is resolved for the better. Come back and vent if you need to. I'll be here to bicker with anytime.

Completely understandable. We all have things that happen in life that make us act out; that make us put our photography as a lesser priority.
I hope you get things worked out soon!
And as a side note, I rather enjoyed seeing your sarcasm... It's refreshing sometimes!

And when you do return I hereby promise to buy you a new membership. That is a living promise, should I go before then, sorry. So, motto, return rather quicker than later.

Awww, Mike -- I'm sorry... No wonder things have been irritating here. I wish you'd consider stepping away from the challenges (so that life isn't as annoying), but staying around and starting a side challenge or two with the things that you do love. I'd join in.
It just sounds like you could use some positives in life, and photography can be cathartic (in the right place. :)
But if it's just making things worse, I can understand that, as well.
I really hope things settle down for you. Life can really be a bitch, at times, but when it swings around, it can be so wonderful.

Follow up and then I need to leave.
Photography lately has become a crutch for me to get away from certain aspects of my life and as a result I've neglected areas I need to be more attentive to. I need to prioritize right now and photography is down on that list.
Since certain events transpired this past week, I've lost my desire as well.
Up until recently I've been so stressed out that I've been negative in many aspects of my life and its been seen here in my family life and friendships and just when i think things are turning around, i get whacked with a wake-up call that has literally has shattered my life.
I cant be the person I've been for so long any longer, I refuse to be that person i've become. I dont know how or why I've become this person and I need to look inward and change. I'm seeing that change occur within myself and I need to show it to others as well, I'm just hoping that I haven't broken things too badly to fix.
the votes of confidence are encouraging and I promise to be back.
Peter, I appreciate the offer but I have to decline, you have done more than your share to those here, you are in inspiration to many with your perseverance. My situation cant even compare to yours and I can barely hold myself together, I dont know how you do it.

Sounds like you're choosing the right priorities, then. I'm impressed at your courage and resolution for getting on it and doing what needs to be done. I truly wish you strength, courage, and all the best. Keep your head about you as you go about it.

I don't know what you're going through, but wish you the best.
I have been through a lot, and have realized the you have to hit rock bottom before you will truly change your ways. Sounds like you may be there. So for that, I wish you the best!

| Looking in the mirror can sure be hellish, Mike. But it's the start of the right direction. Wishing you strength on your journey. Just remember that the best journeys have all sorts of twists and turns, so don't despair. Just keep traveling forward. And we'll be here when you're ready. |

| Hope everything works out for you, Mike. I admire the fact that have recognized there is a problem in your life that needs tending to and have modified your priorities to deal with it. Denial is a much easier but less productive path I sometimes take. With any luck we will see you around here soon. |

FWIW, I like ya, but that might not be a good measure of anything in this case. ;)
