Possible new gun laws

The only law that I agree with in this spectrum of laws is having your weapon locked up when you are not home. Cali is getting more liberal by the min....and more broke by the sec.

This just makes me sick

I am glad that I purchased a nice springfield armory handgun.....45 ACP It had a large sticker on it..(not to be sold in Cali). The clip holds 13 + 1 in the chamber.

Broken, maybe (in your opinion), but "broke" it's not, at least not this year, when the budget was passed (on time, the first in years) with a projected slight surplus, not a deficit.

I agree, that is fairly impressive. Now if Washington could only follow suit on that instead of debating this silly gun issue instead.

Wow -- with a reaction like that, I thought they were ripping guns from people's cold, dead hands, and that 90% of guns would be off the streets.

I'm sorry that such an incredibly high percentage of Californian gun owners would be affected by this: What are the numbers of people with semi-automatic weapons with detachable magazines, anyway?

What does the fact that *you* own two detachable-magazine weapons have to do with how high the percentage is? In California? It's statements like this that make you sound like a wingnut, Adam. Facts and figures, please: show us some research that proves that a "very high percentage" of gun owners own detachable-magazine guns or don't make statements like this at all...

ETA: for the record, I don't think you ARE a "wingnut"; I'm just saying unsupported statements like this make you SOUND like one and don't advance your position at all.

Bear...I haven't been able to find a breakdown of individual weapons for sale/bought. However if someone spends any time in a gun store they can see for themselves. All it takes is to see what they stock more of. And also what the people in the store are looking at.

If it was up to feinstein and her pals they would all be illegal, confiscated, and the second amendment removed.

I'm not going to look anything up - but here's my input on the matter.

There are only a few types of semi-automatic weapon, most are clip based, and a few (.22 rifles mostly) use a magazine that is tubular and parallel to the barrel of the weapon.

Essentially, the overwhelming majority of semi-automatic firearms use removable clips. So the real question is "What percentage of CA guns are semi-automatic?". I have no idea about the figures, but I know that most semi-autos would fall under a restricted category if the standard of 'removable clip' is the defining characteristic....

That's a good point, actually, Cory.

I'll stand down here, Adam :-)

So, getting a meal every day is not an inalienable right.

Getting health care is not an inalienable right.

But being able to shoot 14 times without pausing is an inalienable right.

I'll keep that in mind the next time I consider becoming a conservative.

Now this comment, to me, really tags the poster as a wing nut! (said with a smile on my face posthumous) You've never even considered being a a conservative. Comments like the above might even convince some that you hate conservatives. But alas. I momentarily forgot, only conservatives are capable of hate. :)

That student was WAY more forgiving that I would have been. Must be a hell of a nice guy.

Accidents do happen, but this sounds more like negligence to me.
