I thought that the autofocus on my Nikon D7000 was dead. Today I swapped the lens over with the Tamron from my old film Nikon thinking I might be able to see better if I had the focus right when manually focusing (eyes are not what they used to be) and, HappyHappyJoyJoy and Hallelujah! the autofocus is working fine! Not only that but the zoom is longer and I have a sneaking suspicion the picture quality is better ( I've only tried about 4 shots in the glooming twilight). I'm excited and home alone, just had to share my joy.
