I was just in a bookstore looking through some of the photo magazines. One article was "Six things to photograph this summer", one of which was, IW/OM, The Fireworks. (This is Japan, you know.)

Anyway, a tip for mounting the camera on the tripod was to reverse it so that you can get a greater angle looking up into the sky (the tilt lever will be in front).

Probably not much use if you take photos of fireworks from a large distance, though. Might be useful for cathedral ceilings and whatnot, if you have an el cheapo tripod like me. ;-Þ
