I need help picking out a new camera. Right now i have a little fujifilm finepix 3.2 meg camera, and i really want an slr. My price range is around $1,000. I was looking at the canon line up, like with the rebel, and 10d. I really want to have a good realiable camera, with a big lens on it. So what do you guys think..help me out!!

Ditto, although now you might consider getting the body only and one of the new EF-S lenses announced with the 20D.

What do you mean by a big lens? If you mean a telephoto, you are not going to get what you want for a thousand dollars buying a new DSLR & lens. There is a big gap between what you have now and a DSLR plus lens. If you can settle for something less, your budget gives lots of great options at the top end of that gap. The Olympus C-8080 is probably the best choice on image quality alone. If you want long zoom look to the Panasonic DMC-FZ20. If you like the images you get from your A210 and want to stick with Fuji then the S7000z would be a very good selection.

If you don't mind buying used, I'll bet you can get a great deal on a 10D after the 20D comes out...

The Olympus C-8080 is excellent...... I would not hesitate on this one except it does not feature an optical viewfider.
