Welcome to things. I've recently been working as a dispatcher, and I tend towards wildlife/nature photography generally, so I see where you're coming from. This is a very helpful community, with lots of skilled individuals. If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask in the forums. Try to see if it's been asked before, but if you can't find the answer, feel free to ask and usually somebody will quickly answer. The important thing about taking part is that you comment and post often. Getting and giving feedback is integral to your progress. Don't be discouraged early on, as things can seem a bit harsh. The critiques will improve your work, and by commenting, you will improve your own understanding.
I always point out to new recruits that there is a specific aesthetic at work here at DPC, one which is neither right nor wrong. So just remember that the population her does in fact encourage specific types of work. Sometimes your work may stray outside of that, which is more than okay, but just remember that the voting/commenting will push you towards that said aesthetic and it's okay to deviate.
If you need any help on things, I tend to know a good bit about equipment and lighting, so feel free to start a thread (which I try to sift) or pm me if you have any questions. |
