Anyone have insight into whether or not this lens will be allowed into a major league park? (florida marlins but i would think it's pretty uniform across most parks) |

I got this off the Marlins web page.
It doesn't look like much help.
Digital cameras are permitted in Marlins Park. Digital cameras with extended length zoom lenses are not permitted. Mono/tripods, other professional camera equipment, movie cameras and other video or audio recording equipment are not permitted. Guests are not permitted to transmit and/or stream or aid in transmitting and/or streaming any account, description, picture, video, audio, reproduction or other information about any Marlins games or events.
Are ya going to get some shots of the Mets? They are in Miami for 3 more games. |

This is actually very dependent on the park. Always make sure to check the team's gameday policies.
For the Marlins: //miami.marlins.mlb.com/mia/ballpark/information/index.jsp?content=guide

Glass bottles, metal cans, hard-sided coolers, open or hard-sided containers, commercial-grade audio, video or photographic equipment |

Someone else was asking the same question and I found this.
I have a 300mm lens which when extended is quite long, I brought it in during the first Yankee game and didn't have any problems. I would imagine if you have anything that is larger than that it could present a problem.
I don't think you'll have a problem but you should try to go early just in case.

yes, to see the visiting team. generally speaking. i have a little bit of sympathy for the players having to listen to cheers for opposing teams at home and on the road. then again, how much sympathy can you have for someone whose league minimum salary is $490k. |

actually, if you pay enough, you can sit in the dugout, or if you bring a glove they'll let you play left field. |

I was in Miami, and called the stadium to find out what time the game was. They asked me "what time can you get here?" |

... and whose average career lasts about three years. There are roughly 500 MLB jobs ...
