Sure. That's 14 hours of intensive instruction. It won't make anyone an expert, but "proficiency" is within reach... |

i take instructor led online courses all the time at work with software i'm am unfamiliar with 16, 32, 40hrs of "intense instruction" i am know where near proficient when i complete them, in fact i'm a beginner still.
i get it, marketing, its probably a worthwhile course to those green to PS, i just think people ought to have the proper expectations on what to expect. |

I tend to agree with Mike here. In no way proficient in anything other than exactly what they teach you and only if you took copious notes and followed them. And that is only becoming proficient in mimicking the technique of someone else. I have used PS for years and even though there are some fairly advanced things I know how to do, there are at least ten times that number of basic things that I have no idea how to do. As in adding a vignette to a dyptych panel or even adding a gradient. Clueless. So to go from beginner to proficient in two days? I don't think so.
There is a reason it is free.

It's all in how you define "proficiency". By average-home-photographer standards, reasonable proficiency can be attained. |

I agree. In most areas that I have been in (most notably, education) "proficient" is the bare minimum of knowledge or skill. |

***Bump***
I will try to be there, and see what's all about myself. If you think there is a catch, just don't give your credit card numbers or SS numbers, you should be just fine... but, if it's a really a good session, you could learn one thing or two to apply to your own images! Who knows... it says free... can't beat that price :\
Suggestion, if you have a screen grab program, or even a video recorder that you can put front of your monitor and record this session... it might be more useful, just in case if the catch is to buy the DVD for it later on! |

***Update***
If you watch the workshop during live hours, two days, they are free... So, you may want to record them somehow. If you do want to purchase the whole set, it's $19.00 during the workshop and $30.00 after that.
If you have time, watch it for free... Towards to end, if you think you can take advantage from it more, purchase the set while show is on to save. So, there is nothing to lose here... pay if you want, don't pay if you don't like it. |
